Description
Gotham City - The Unknown LP. Gotham City was one of the most creative and versatile bands of the early 80s Swedish metal scene. They debuted in 1982 with a self-financed (and hopelessly rare) 7-inch and the following year a collectible 'Black Writs EP.' But the best moment in their career came in early 1984 with the release of a remarkable, sole LP pressed by the local Fingerprint Records. The sound was characterized by a unique and often overwhelming sense of melody coupled with the aggression of NWOBHM and very clear and solid production, with complex riffs, many tempo changes, and fantasy lyrics often based on Viking mythology. The band's music was very anthemic, almost epic, yet still rooted in traditional heavy rock. Unfortunately, due to a lack of support, they split up in 1987. This is a vinyl reissue of their classic album. (m-/ex+, new, corner bend/ding)
