Hairy Chapter - Can't Get Through LP. The gate-fold cover official vinyl reissue of a killer 1971 German prog rock record. Hairy Chapter was founded in Bonn in 1969 by Harry Unte (vocals), Harry Titlbach (guitar), Rudolf Oldenburg (bass), and Rudi Haubold (drums). The band existed for only two years and -officially- released two albums. The debut, 'Eyes' was released by budget label Opp in 1970. (Tracks of that LP were previously issued in 1969 on an LP released by 'Billiglabel' Maritim, which was credited to the non-existing Chaparall Electric Sound Inc.). 'Can't Get Through' was the band's second album (released by Bacillus Records), which the band (in a slightly different line-up) recorded with renowned engineer and producer Dieter Dierks. Dierks added strong psychedelic rock elements to the group's bluesy hard-rock, with truly breathtaking results. One of my favorite early 70s heavy prog rock records. (sealed)
