Description
Joy Unlimited - Schmetterlinge CD. Reissue of the original 1971 LP on the legendary Pilz label. Progressive with elements of ballet music, blues and jazz. Good female vocals, in English language. The title means “Butterflies”.
Who does not know Joy Fleming? Less known is the fact that in the early seventies she and her band Joy Unlimited released five highbrow LPs that cannot be compared with what she is doing today. “Schmetterlinge” (butterflies) was released on the Pilz label in 1971, “Reflections” and “Minne” appeared on BASF in 1973 and 1974. Gradually these three LPs are coming out as CDs on Garden of Delights, all of them with bonus tracks – there exists already a cheap Russian bootleg CD of “Reflections”. The “Schmetterlinge” CD contains four bonus tracks from 1971: first the “Neckarbrücken-Blues” in an early radio version of Joy Unlimited; the master tape was provided by SWR Media. Then “All heaven and all earth” from the Pilz LP “Heavy Christmas” that makes fun of the Christmas cult. And finally “Silvergun” and “Peace train” from their fourth single.
