Description

Rubberband - The Travels Of Christopher Toboggan LP. Private press record looks like early 70s featuring ex-60s garage band members with some rural folky rockin tunes with a variety to their sound. You'll find a bit of flute, harmonica, brass and piano here. Some poeple say these guys are from Texas but their roots trace back to Alabama. Guest players like Tippy Armstrong and Muscle Shoals connections. (ex+/vg, disc is pretty nice with only a few light marks, cover is a little dirty, but not much, top right corner drummer wrote his name and number. The bad part is the half top split seam.)

"Seldom seen mid-70s melodic rock with various mainstream moves. Good groove playing as always with Texas bands, OK vocals, some guitar soloing and jazzy flute excursions. Not a bad album, but somewhat faceless. "If My Life Came Up Again" is a great rural rock tune that could have been a radio hit. [PL]" - Acid Archives
