Description
Dull Knife - Electric Indian LP. Vinyl reissue of this German band that combined Deep Purple-influenced hard rock with tough blues rock. The musicians played in a heavy and powerful fashion, with lots of good guitar and organ work and solid drumming. This is a reissue of their excellent, but very rare, album from 1971. The impressive opening cut, 'Plastic People', has lots of heavy riffs, sudden breaks and lengthy solos. The riffs (at times reminding of Hendrix and Cream!) and melodies are catchy and the band members clearly have their technical skills, resulting in a collection that convinces from start to finish. 'Electric Indian' was recorded by famous engineer Dieter Dierks. The band's lead singer and keyboard player Gottfried Janko (who died in 2009) later joined Jane and is featured on their 'Lady' album.
