Kalevala Orchestra - Abraham's Blue Refrain LP. 180-gram vinyl reissue of Finnish progressive rock record from 1977 originally released on the Hi-Hat label. The overall sweeping tone of this progressive and monumental record is dark and somber with a spiritual weight to it. The song themes and lyrics, sung in English which was rare for a Finnish band in those days, are on a grand scale imbued with deep sentiment and sacred intention. While not as good as their debut album, I seem to recall this being better than their Boogie Jungle album, but it has been a long time since I've given it a good listen. (m-/m-, new)
